The Spring Festival of Dance 2017 – help support

This is a very busy time of year for the school and it is all so exciting and fun! Preparations for our annual Spring Festival of Dance are now in full swing. The Spring Festival of Dance is Coastal Dance Centre’s year-end performance for the dance year. Jackie Stacharowski solo show at Wm Miller Gallery

JACKIE STACHAROWSKI SOLO SHOW April 5th – 12th William Miller Gallery Jackie Stacharowski is pleased to announce her one woman show Body Language at our gallery, the William H. Miller Gallery. This show will feature over 30 of her original paintings that explore both the inner-personal and the inter-personal relationships we all experience. Dana Ridenour a finalist in prestigious national book competition

Dana, of Murrells Inlet, submitted her first novel along with 1400 other entrants and now she is one of the 3 finalists for the Gold or Silver Award for new fiction authors at the Ben Franklin Book Competition.  She will be signing her book Behind The Mask at the Art Works Festival in the Litchfield Exchange Building (behind Applewoods restaurant) this Saturday, March 25 from 2 to 5 pm

Y.A.M. (Youth Art Month) Competition

Each year, roughly 100 K-12 local art students compete to go onto the statewide competition where there are cash awards to the winners.  There was an intermediate school student from our area that won last year.  Here are some of the top entrants from this year…such talent!   Jen Pierce, MB HS art teacher and coordinator of the competition.  


Art & Music Exhibition coming Mar 24

Daila Levy, an art student at HGTC is putting together an evening of art for sale with musical performance Fri, Mar. 24, 5-9pm at the Fresh Brewed Coffee House, 933 Broadway St. downtown (next to City Hall).  It will be her first of hopefully many to come events in our revitalizing downtown.

Myrtle Beach’s inaugural First Friday Artwalk took place Friday, March 3.  It was a big success with a great turnout, interesting diverse art, generous food and drink and warm comaraderie.  Thank you to Carl Kerridge for most of these photos. Annual Academy of Arts Senior Show

New literary group forming!

CCU students perform with Carolina Master Chorale

Six CCU students recently performed four concerts with the Carolina Master Chorale, the premiere symphonic chorus in the region, Feb. 10-12. The student performers were winners of the Carolina Master Chorale/Coastal Carolina University Student Vocal Competition, held in November 2017. Student performers included seniors Whitney Daniels, a vocal performance major; Francesca Brown, Brian Bruno, Paige Mason, and Corey Ryan, all BFA musical theater majors; and junior Sarah Parker, a BFA musical theater major.
